Celebration Time!
Canyon has been selected as a California Schools to Watch recipient. What a great honor for our school and community.
On Wednesday January 17th, a review team for the Schools to Watch committee visited our school. Canyon was one of only eight schoools being reviewed. The team arrived at Canyon at 7:30 am and remained on campus meeting with students, teachers, district office staff, and parents until 7:00 pm. Our Superintendent, James Fitzpatrick, and Board of Education members Jo Loss and Kunio Okui also met the the committee. A very thorough evaluation of our school was made and the committee had many positive comments and observations about our programs and students. In the end, it was determined that we are an outstanding school that other schools can model their programs after. Thank you to all the parents who prepared food for the committee and met with the committee to share their ideas about Canyon - we could not have done it without you.
